Stretching through from North to South of Ecuador is a corridor of towering volcanoes known as the Avenue of Volcanoes. This avenue is home to more than 70 volcanoes in the 300 km range, with the largest concentration of active volcanoes in the world as well as the tallest. Chimborazo is arguably the tallest volcano in the world (when measuring from the centre of the earth) reaching dizzying heights of 6,263m (20,548ft).
