Venture deep underground into the ancient lava tunnels of Galapagos. Formed thousands of years ago these lava tunnels (lava tubes) located within minutes from the lodge, form an organic, underground network or walkway that cover approximately 7880 squre kilometers of land across 45,000sq km of ocean. The Galapagos archipelago straddle the Nazca tectonic plate and moves approximately 6.5 cm each year across the South America plate, causing a large amount of volcanic activity.
