Explore the many farms and artisans in the area and in the town of Puerto Ayora.  In the highlands, there are a multitude of farms, including our own, where you can tour and see the various tropical fruits, vegetables, coffee and cacao plants we grow.  Visit the neighbouring artisanal sugar factory, where you can learn how to extract the alcohol from sugar cane to create the local ‘rum’.  Stop by the local wood carver and appreciate his beautiful wooden carvings of local animals and learn about the history of each piece of wood he uses.  If you’re lucky, you may even be able to try your hand at carving yourself.  Visit Cerro Mesa Reserve, home to Giant Galapagos Tortoises and other wildlife, as well as the islands largest volcanic crater.  Hike the scenic trail to reach a viewing point where you can admire the 360 views of the island.  Interested in visiting nearby attractions during your stay?  Contact us, and we will be happy to help coordinate a tour.
